Junior Network Administrator / Analyst

REPORTS TO: Senior Network Administrator/Analyst, Information Systems

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining general system-wide health of NorthPointe’s information systems, with emphasis on critical analysis of business processes and design.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide Tier 2 technical support by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and taking corrective action on desktop, laptop, thin client, and network issues in a primarily Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 environment.

Keep all systems running at peak performance through the development and execution of general maintenance procedures, analysis of system performance with monitoring applications and error logs, and corrective recommendations and actions as required.

Assist in analysis, project planning, and execution of IS projects.

Assist in evaluation, installation, configuration, and support of new and existing systems and technology.

Assist in analysis and redesign of business processes, with a focus on improving efficiency through the use of technology.

Communicate with all levels of staff regarding requests, issues, status of projects, and general IS inquiries.

PHYSICAL & VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Ability to see accurately both near and far.

Ability to walk, bend, twist, kneel, and stoop.

Ability to accurately manipulate small objects accurately using fine motor skills.

Ability to drive to various locations as needed, adapting to various weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2-4 years of relevant experience performing the following:

Administering systems, networks, etc. Notably Windows Server 2003 / Active Directory environments

Working with a variety of client/server applications, hardware configuration.

Practicing excellent understanding of networking and server computing concepts

Preferred (but not required):

Bachelors degree in CS, MIS, related

A+, MSCA, and related certifications

Programming/Scripting experience

Experience with Linux, iSCSI Enterprise Target

Experience building/maintaining dynamic websites (PHP/MySQL) and content management systems (Drupal)

Work in a variety of environments

Valid driver’s license and use of your own car

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service and verbal skills
