REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
JOB SUMMARY: Ensures the smooth operation of the agency. Assists Board with development of strategic plan, budget and recommends revisions to policies and procedures to the Board of Directors. Ensures adherence to CARF and other regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Carries out directions of the Board of Directors regarding strategic plan and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Directs and oversees all operations of the agency.
- Oversees preparation of the agency’s annual budget
- Oversees the spending of all agency funds.
- Communicates with the Board of Directors regularly regarding operational developments and/or possible changes that warrant Board attention/approval.
- Maintains professional relationships with people in the community, administrators of other agencies and government officials (and/or employees); exchanges appropriate information as necessary to secure funding and/or achieve agency objectives.
- Attends all Board meetings; reports on activities and expenditures of the agency.
- Supervises all Division Vice Presidents and the Director of Human Resources.
- Serves as a liaison between the board of directors and management.
- Conducts semi-annual quality improvement sessions.
- The employee may be asked to perform other duties as required by the employer’s business needs.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in community activities, network groups and related professional organizations to remain abreast of developments in social services.
- Interviews candidates for coordinator and management positions; makes recommendations regarding potential candidates.
- Ensures the safety of persons served and staff personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred, bachelor’s required
- 5 years of experience in Human Services or related field
- 3 years of supervisory and/or management experience
- Experience with budget development preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
